On December 19th at the Forum in Inglewood, California, Golden Boy Promotions is staging a card that will be televised by HBO as part of their 'Boxing After Dark' series. Nicholas Walters, the former WBA featherweight belt-holder - who is promoted by Top Rank - is scheduled to open this telecast.

There were strong indications that a junior middleweight bout between James Kirkland and Gabe Rosado would headline this show. Golden Boy had worked out an agreement with 50 Cent's SMS Promotions so that Kirkland could appear on this card.

Word is that both parties had come to terms last week when suddenly the mercurial Kirkland informed everybody that he wanted more money over the weekend. It was at that point this fight was then taken of the table according to a source

It's not clear what Kirkland's immediate plans will be at this point. He was last seen getting stopped in three rounds by Saul Alvarez in Houston, Texas, on May 9th.

Kirkland (33-2, 28KOs), 31-years-old, has only been in action three times in the last four years.
