The Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association, after considering the claim made by the promoter Don King, returned Guillermo Jones to the status of cruiserweight "champion in recess."

This was stipulated in the resolution issued on Thursday that ratifies the Russian Dennis Lebedev (25-2) as the full cruiserweight champion, according to the regulations of the WBA, and advised to both parties.

In addition, both parties were reminded that they must close negotiations for the Lebedev vs Jones rematch and submit the contract no later than December 16, 2013.

Jones (39-3-2, 31KOs) knocked out Lebedev to win the full title in May, but then he was stripped after testing positive for a banned substance following the match. The sanctioning body ordered an immediate rematch at their recent convention.

It was a banned substance. He should have been stripped, just not banned entirely IMO.
