Khan: You Can Never Rule Out Possibility of Hatton Fight

By Amir Khan

So I’ve just landed back home after a couple of weeks in New York, it was great getting away and spending some time with my fiancé and her family, I had a really great time out there.

I saw that a few papers today have mentioned that I want to fight Ricky Hatton in my next fight. I just want to make things clear and say that this isn’t the case. I’m really pleased that Ricky will be making a return to the ring and want to give him my full support, as he’s always given me his full backing.

Ricky’s a good friend of mine and I think it was clear he had an itch to get back into the ring like a lot of great champions and my hope is that his return is a successful one. He’s only 33, so there is still so much he can give to boxing.

Down the line you never know what can happen in the sport, and if it makes sense, and our paths cross, then you can never rule out the possibility of us sharing a ring.

For the immediate future, however, I’m still in discussions with my team and Golden Boy as to my next opponent and we’ll be making a few announcements soon. I’ve got a date of December 15th from HBO for my next fight and I’ll let you all know who I’ve got lined up as soon as everything is confirmed.

I’m feeling really good, I’ve enjoyed the time I’ve had off, and will be making the most out of the few weeks I have remaining before I begin another gruelling camp!

For any updates make sure you stay tuned to www.amirkhanworld.com as it will be the first place to know anything.

After a couple of bouts for each fighter, this fight makes perfect sense to me.

[QUOTE=Bossy;12539975]Why the hell would he even consider Hatton as an option when he has Kell Brook just waiting from him? Especially since Kell seemed to struggle a few rounds against Jones. It's win win, if Kell wins he gets exposure,…

Hatton-Khan would be massive. Could even be a Wembley Stadium fight next summer if both fighters do well in their next fight or two. I would definitely go to it. But it mainly depends on how Hatton looks on November…
