BoxingScene.com was advised that a deal is being worked out for a potential fight between WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KOs) and top contender Lamont Peterson (28-1-1, 14 KOs). Khan's trainer, Freddie Roach, confirmed the details. The bout would happen on April 16 at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England. HBO will televise the fight.

Khan's team was trying to secure Peterson a few weeks ago, but the negotiations fell apart over money. According to Roach, the offer to Peterson was raised. He believes the two sides will work it out.

"Last thing that I heard they were trying to sign Lamont Peterson. That was the fight that everyone wanted. Lamont wanted too much money at first, but they're probably going to work it out. I heard that Lamont wanted a half million and that they offered him $300,000," Roach said.
