According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard, Schaefer, either featherweight Gary Russell Jr. (18-0, 10KOs) or heavyweight prospect Seth Mitchell (22-0-1, 16KOs), will possibly open up the December 10 HBO telecast headlined by the WBA/IBF junior welterweight title fight between defending champion Amir Khan (26-1, 18KO) and mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson (29-1-1, 15KOs). The card will likely land in Peterson's hometown of Washington D.C.
