AMIR KHAN insists he is the man who can finally defeat Floyd Mayweather Jnr.

The Bolton boxer dumped Luis Collazo onto the canvas three times in a masterclass performance in Las Vegas on Saturday night, winning by a landslide points decision on the undercard of the world's best pound for pound fighter.

Now Khan wants the next crack at the unbeaten American superstar.

Khan, 27, said: "Now people know that at 147lbs a fight against Mayweather would be amazing.

"I feel I proved in there that I have the speed and the power is developing more. I think I am the full package and I am only going to get better.

"The fans, they want a young lion to come up and see Floyd Mayweather get beat. It's all about different skills and I feel a younger fighter would definitely have a big say in getting the right result.

"Mayweather changes his style for different fights but if he stood in front of me to fight, he would get hit by my shots.

"Floyd is getting older and it could be a great time to catch him, someone young and hungry, coming up to challenge him.

"No-one is as quick as me or as explosive as me. When it comes down to boxing, no-one can beat me in a boxing fight and I've proved that numerous times."

But he added: "For me to box in September would be very tough. I won't do it because of the fast of Ramadan. I would not be ready to box in September, but if Floyd Mayweather moves it to a different date it could happen. November will be perfect for me."

Put simply, Khan was terrific. His hands were a blur and this was, by a distance, his best performance to date as a professional boxer.

Khan won all 12 rounds with two judges, while a third handed Collazo two rounds in total.

The former Olympic silver medallist also put Collazo on the seat of his pants three times, something very few elite fighters have ever managed.

Whether he gets his shot at Mayweather after this remains to be seen but if the 'Money' man watches a tape of his destruction of Collazo, he may think again and turn to other options.

Khan said: "I've got a lot of respect for Collazo. He's one of those guys who makes everyone look bad.

"I'll now move on to bigger and better things. I should fight Mayweather next, but I'll leave that to my team.

"You could see the power in my shots and the number of times I had him down. That just shows I'm perfect for this weight. I am a force at welterweight. "
