Khan: If I Have No Chin, Why Doesn't Garcia Fight Me?

Amir Khan insists he is not worried about Danny Garcia's punch power and hopes to land a rematch this year. Khan was floored heavily by Garcia in a shock knockout defeat in July and the Philadelphia fighter's father, trainer Angel Garcia has irritated the Bolton boxer by questioning his punch resistance. Garcia will defend his WBC and WBA light-welterweight titles against Zab Judah on February 9, but Khan has urged the champion to face him again in his next fight.

"He caught me with a great shot, he caught me with a big left hook that I didn't recover from, so you know he's going to say all sorts," Khan told Sky Sports News. "If he doesn't think I have got a chin then why doesn't he take the fight on again, against me. It should be an easy fight for Danny Garcia. I tell you one thing, if I didn't have a chin, I don't think I would get up from that first knockdown because it was a punch perfect shot he hit me with. After getting hit with that shot, I got hit by 20 clean punches.

"I mean if Amir Khan didn't have a chin, I don't think he would take those shots. So I don't know what his Dad is going on about."

Khan will stay busy by taking a fight while he waits for Garcia and possible opponents include Ricky Hatton's recent conqueror Vyacheslav Senchenko. Golden Boy promotions boss Richard Schaefer will hold talks with Khan before his next foe is announced later in the week.

"The Garcia fight could happen towards the end of the year because he's fighting Zab Judah. That's what I'm hoping for," said Khan. "There have been a few opponents I have been looking at. People have been talking about Josesito Lopez, there's Victor Ortiz, there's Senchenhko, the guy who beat Ricky Hatton. I'm one of those fighters who would fight anyone put in front of them. I've never said no to an opponent and I never will."
