According to Golden Boy Promotions CEO, Richard Schaefer, his initial discussions with promoter Gary Shaw, regarding a junior welterweight unification between WBA junior welterweight titlist Amir Khan (24-1, 17KOs), and WBO/WBC counterpart Tim Bradley, have gone well. A tentative target date is July 30 in the United States. Khan returns on April 16 against Paul McCloskey at the MEN Arena in Manchester, England. Bradley (27-0, 11KOs) is coming off a Jan. 29 ten round technical decision over previously unbeaten Devon Alexander.
"I had some very good conversations with Gary about it and I will share these conversations with Team Khan when they are here. Right now all of their focus is on the McCloskey fight, as it should be, but I started to have initial conversations with Team Khan - and so far, so good," Schaefer told FanHouse.
