| Khabib vs. Prescott Possible, Magomed-Bisbal Heads To AC
|
|
By Rick Reeno According to manager Boris Grinberg, the heavyweight battle between Magomed Abdusalamov (16-0, 16KOs) and Victor Bisbal (21-1, 15KOs) is heading to a venue in Atlantic City. The finishing touches are being made on the venue deal. The show takes place on March 8th and ESPN2 will televise the contest as part of their Friday Night Fights series. Promoter Sampson Lewkowicz was looking to make a match between junior welterweights Breidis Prescott (26-4, 20KOs) and Victor Cayo (31-3, 22KOs) - but there could be a problem. Sources have advised BoxingScene.com that Prescott is now being considered as a potential opponent for WBA/IBO 140-pound champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (18-0, 8KOs), and that would take place as the HBO televised co-feature to Brandon Rios-Mike Alvarado II on March 30th at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. However, in the end Khabib-Prescott would completely depend on HBO's approval. Top Rank, who recently signed Khabib, wanted to match him against Karim Mayfield (17-0-1, 10KOs), but some promotional complications on the side of Mayfield are getting in the way. Abdusalamov is always in exciting fights. Bisbal is no pushover, this won't be easy - Magomed is a strong puncher but his defense isn't very good, and Bisbal is a hard puncher too.
One of them will be KOed, that much is for sure.
And Khabib vs. Prescott will be good too. |

Both Magomed and Khabib to add a W to their unbeaten records. Two tough Dagestani fighters. |

I don't know, its a better fight than Khabib Mayfield. Khabib beats Mayfield and Prescott. But a fight with Prescott would be more entertaining. Hopefully Khabib fights the winner of Rios Alvarado II. |

Just as long as he is on the under card for Rios vs Alvarado 2. |
