Kevin Mitchell will be ringside on Saturday night for John Murray's European lightweight title defence against Karim El Ouzaghari.

It could mean that Mitchell is a step closer to accepting a fight against Murray.

The pair were due to meet on April 2 at Wembley Arena.

But the fight fell through, with Mitchell seemingly unwilling to take the terms on offer.

This week, Murray called on Mitchell to turn up at York Hall.

Mitchell long-regarded the Bethnal Green venue as his "manor" as he hails from nearby Dagenham.

But it will be Murray who hogs the limelight in his first fight for promoter Frank Warren.

Mitchell hasn't boxed since last May, when he lost a WBO lightweight world title fight against Michael Katsidis.
