Kessler's Hand Still Injured, Steiglitz Bout is Now Off

BoxingScene.com has been advised that Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33KOs) has withdrawn from his scheduled fight on April 14th with WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (41-2, 23KOs). Kessler's right hand has not fully healed in time to make the April date.

The new date being discussed is May 19th, at PARKEN Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark - but at this point Kessler is likely going to face another opponent and several names are being kicked around - including WBA interim-champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25 KOs).

The fight was orginally scheduled to take place on November 5th, but Kessler injured his right hand in training. Stieglitz returned in January in Offenburg and retained his title with a lopsided twelve round decision against Henry Weber. Kessler has been out of the ring since last June's TKO win over Mehdi Bouadla.

something smells around Kessler the soft Danish cupcake. Kessler only wantsa easy fights at home and makes so many excuses. but that is a typical soft weak Euro who only knows the easy life. Kessler is just a soft guy…
