BoxingScene.com has been advised that Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33KOs) has withdrawn from his scheduled fight on April 14th with WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (41-2, 23KOs). Kessler's right hand has not fully healed in time to make the April date.

The new date being discussed is May 19th, at PARKEN Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark - but at this point Kessler is likely going to face another opponent and several names are being kicked around - including WBA interim-champion Brian Magee (36-4-1, 25 KOs).

The fight was orginally scheduled to take place on November 5th, but Kessler injured his right hand in training. Stieglitz returned in January in Offenburg and retained his title with a lopsided twelve round decision against Henry Weber. Kessler has been out of the ring since last June's TKO win over Mehdi Bouadla.

I think that Kessler will probably fight Mcgee who has lost only to Bute by tko in recent years. Team Kessler wants to add some wins on their record before fighting Bute, so they can have some weight at the negociation table. When Kessler or his team refused to fight Bute, i knew they were goi...
