While it's long been rumored that Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32 KOs) is being lined up for a fight with IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute of Canada, recent reports are suggesting that WBO champion Robert Stieglitz (40-2, 23 KOs) is the more probable opponent for the Danish star. The fight with Stieglitz could take place in the fall. Kessler is returning on Saturday night in Copenhagen against Frenchman Mehdi Bouadla (22-3, 10 KOs). Bouadla is Kessler's first fight since withdrawing from the Super Six tournament with an eye injury. Kessler was last seen in the ring in April 2010, winning a tough twelve round decision over Carl Froch.

Kessler's goal is to be undisputed, so a Stieglitz fight is a must. So the road could be Stieglitz - Bute - S6 winner - retirement. Meanwhile Bute is again left to look in the Who's who of cabdrivers and garbagemen to find his next opponent.
