| Kessler vs Abraham Title Clash is Now a Possibility

By Per Ake Persson Prior to Saturday's match at the O2 World Arena in Berlin, there were already reports that Mikkel Kessler was considering the possibility of facing the winner of Robert Stieglitz vs. Arthur Abraham. After twelve rounds, Abraham captured the WBO super middleweight title with a unanimous decision. Sauerland Events CEO Chris Meyer, who promotes both boxers, told BoxingScene.com that Kessler vs. Abraham is indeed a possibility - "if [Kessler] want to" do it. A big question is whether or not Kessler (45-2, 34KOs) will wait for Abraham (35-3, 27KOs) to heal up and get ready for a major fight again - something that may take a few months - or have a fight inbetween. I like the fight but kessler should take a fight while AA heals up, he's getting old kessler is and should stay active. |

Seems like another scenario is would Sauerland want to put AA in w/Kessler
Who generates more money and whats the benefit to have them fight right away when it could be milked for a bit AA having a couple title defenses while Kessler waits for Froch |

Its possible that the WBO belt is worth a little more than WBA's regular title yeah.
But in terms of legacy a win over Magee gives just as little as a win over Abaraham with less risk considering an Abraham fight would take ... |
