After initially denying they had received an offer, promoter Ulf Steinforth of SES confirmed to BILD that Sauerland Event has sent over an offer of 500,000 EUR to stage a fight in Denmark between the comebacking Mikkel Kessler (43-2, 32KOs), who is handled by Sauerland, and the SES promoted Robert Stieglitz (39-2, 23KOs), the reigning WBO super middleweight champion. The fight would take place in June. Steinforth said they are going to review the offer.

Stieglitz is also looking for a new trainer as Torsten Schmitz departed for a job with Sauerland to be an assistant to Karsten Rower. Manfred Wolke, formerly with Sauerland and the man behind Henry Maske, is according to Bild the one who might take over the Schmitz's position.

Last year, Kessler left the Super Six tournament with an eye injury. He was experiencing blurred vision during training. Within 14 days, his eyes will be checked by specialists. If there are no problems found, Kessler plans to start sparring by March.
