Undefeated welterweight Kell Brook has exciting times ahead with his US debut already confirmed for the huge Super Six finale card on December 17th in Atlantic City and now promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed his plans to seal a world title shot for ‘The Special One’ in 2012.
Sheffield-born Brook, at 25 years-old, is one of the brightest prospects in the welterweight division after racking up 25 straight victories with 17 knockouts in seven years as a professional and now stands on the cusp of his dream with a title belt in sight if he impresses stateside next month.
“The Americans will the get the chance to see close hand exactly what we are all getting excited about on this side of the Atlantic ,” Hearn told The Express. “Brook will amaze them.”
The Briton will then step in with one of the 147lb champions in what would be his first fight of the NewYear.
WBA belt holder Vyacheslav Senchenko or IBF champion Andre Berto are the more likely candidates rather than Mayweather (WBC) or Pacquiao (WBO) who could face each other in May to unify.
“That (Kell's title fight) will happen in the spring of next year,” explained Hearn.
“Kell’s partner is expecting their baby in January so that means he needs to get back in the ring after his fight in December in around March or April. He will fight a decent opponent in December, one with a good record and when he wins that one he will be ready for a world title shot.”
