IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs) is planning to return to the ring in the month of February, and he still wants a showdown with domestic rival Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs). Brook has dared Khan to face him.
Khan is focused on landing a fight with WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (47-0, 26KOs). Brook has a different plan. He wants Khan to fight him in February, and the winner would get Mayweather in May.
“I am looking to be ready to fight again in February of next year,” Brook told City AM. “People want to see Mayweather tested and I am unbeaten. I think that fight needs to happen.
"I think me and Khan should fight for the right to take on Mayweather, that is the obvious thing. Let’s see who the real king of England is, even though we all know it is me. I am world champion, he’s not. I want to put this to bed. I know what will happen in the fight.”
