The welterweight title fight between Kell Brook and Kevin Bizier officially has a home.

"Yes, we finally have it in hand, Sheffield on March 26," Yvon Michel, Bizier's promoter informed BoxingScene.com. "We are very happy with the terms of the fight; Kevin is prepared to travel to England and come home with the title."

Brook (35-0, 24KOs) will attempt the third defense of the belt he earned with a decision win over Shawn Porter in Aug. '14. The event marked just his second career fight in the United States, coming up aces in the toughest test of his career.

A vacation followed, only for the holiday/celebration to be interrupted by a knife attack in Tenerife. Leg wounds left the Brit out of the ring for the balance of the year, before enjoying a triumphant homecoming in a 4th round knockout of Jo Jo Dan las March in Sheffield.

His lone pece of ring action since then was a 6th round stoppage of Frankie Gavin last May in London. Efforts to put together a voluntary defense versus Diego Chavez last October in Sheffield were thwarted when Brook suffered an injury that left him out of the ring for the rest of 2015.

Dan earned the title fight with a pair of wins over Bizier (25-2, 17KOs), including a 12-round nod in their Dec. '14 rematch which doubled as a sanctioned eliminator. Bizier has since rebounded with two wins, none bigger than his last performance.

The squat boxer from Quebec, Canada delivered a career-best performance in forcing previously unbeaten Fredrick Lawson to retire on his stool after 10 rounds last November in Miami. The fight was sanctioned as a final eliminator; the win, coupled with the length of time in which Brook was injured meant the two camps were required to go straight into negotiations without the benefit of an interim fight.

Coming to terms was never a concern for either side. Michel and Eddie Hearn, Brook's promoter were already on the books for a November 28 clash between James DeGale (who fights for Hearn's Matchroom Boxing) and Lucian Bute (Michel's GYM [Groupe Yvon Michel] Promotions) in Canada and were confident of sitting down for the sake of once again doing business together.

"Negotiations went very well," Michel insisted, even with the threat of the fight going to a purse bid. "We both wanted the fight in our respective countries but are happy with the terms.

"It is always a pleasure to work with Eddie Hearn. We worked out the date and location, Kevin has the proper time to train and will deliver the performance of his life."

The event will air live on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom. US TV rights have yet to be secured, though there exists the possibility of the telecast being picked up by Showtime or its affiliate networks in a Saturday matinee showing as part of its Showtime Boxing International series. Such was the case for Brook's aforementioned win over Dan.
