Former IBF welterweight Kell Brook had a good laugh after hearing that his domestic rival, Amir Khan, had traveled to Australia to be a part of the reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.'
'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here' is a reality TV series in which up to 12 celebrities live together in a jungle environment for three weeks. They have no luxuries, and compete to be crowned king or queen of the jungle.
The reality show agreement comes on the heels of Khan's recent announcement that he reconciled with his wife.
Brook has been chasing Khan for a fight for the last few years, but the Bolton boxer is not as interested in the showdown.
Brook plans to use Khan's reality show appearance to get some payback for their fight not going through.
"I think he's travelled over to the other end of the world to get away from me," Brook exclusively told Sky Sports. "The next thing he'll be saying is, if Kell comes to the jungle and lasts longer than he does, he'll fight me then!
"He's always finding some kind of excuse and now he's travelled to the other side of the world to get away from me. It is a programme that I do enjoy watching. I'm looking forward to seeing him on the show. I'll be voting for him to eat some kangaroo testicles, or something like that. I'll make sure that he has to do something for avoiding the fight with me."
Brook admits that he's interested in watching Khan's participation in the show, to see what his personality is like, but one of his main goals is still to lure Khan in the ring for a blockbuster grudge match in the UK.
"Let's see what his personality is like. I'm looking forward to seeing what he's about, if I'm honest with you, but if he gets in there with me, there is only one winner, and that's me," said Brook.
Khan has been out of the ring since May 2016, when he was knocked out in six round by Canelo Alvarez at a catch-weight of 155-pounds. He plans to have three fights in 2018, with the first bout taking place in February. Brook is looking to bounce back after suffering a TKO defeat at the hands of Errol Spence back in May. He is likely coming back in the first quarter of 2018.
