IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) has placed WBC champion Danny Garcia at the top of his wishlist.
Brook is currently looking for a big name opponent for the summer. Last month destroyed mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier of Canada in two rounds.
The Sheffield fighter has been without success in securing a major fight for his career.
Brook was even willing to move up in weight to meet Miguel Cotto at the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds.
"I remember the Cotto story came out just after [Amir] Khan announced he was going to fight [Saul] Alvarez, then we started hearing rumours," he told Sky Sports.
"I couldn't stop talking about it but it hasn't progressed for one reason or another. It would be a big fight. We've all watched him for many years and he's a true warrior and those are the sort of fights we all want. Right now though, I want Danny Garcia. He is a big name, he is good and that would be my number one pick."
One fight who raises Brooks blood pressure is former four division world champion Adrien Broner (32-2, 24KOs).
Earlier this month Broner stopped UK fighter Ashley Theophane in nine rounds. Broner failed to make weight for that contest and was stripped of the WBA 140-pound title. He is returning to the welterweight division in his next outing. He won the WBA belt at 147-pounds a few years ago with a win over Paulie Malignaggi.
"A lot of people, including myself, would like to give him a beating for how he acts and how he goes off," Brook said. "He does wind me up because he's got no respect for the game. I am not as bad as some people who say they 'hate' him, I just take him for what he is. But he's someone I'd like to smack about!
"He can fight, they can all fight at this level. I am ready to go in July. I just want big names and I need to fight big names to get me up for a fight. I've been doing this for a long time."
