Kell Brook: I Will Be Nasty and Spiteful Against Jones!

By Kevin Francis, courtesy of The Daily Star

KELL BROOK has vowed to shut Carson Jones up in style when they meet in an IBF welterweight world title eliminator next Saturday.

The Sheffield star meets Jones at the Motorpoint Arena in his home town and wants his fans to give the Oklahoma fighter a hot reception.

Brook is no fan of Jones after they clashed at a press conference and have since continued a transatlantic war of words.

Unbeaten Brook, 26, said: “I don’t like him and he doesn’t like me – it’s as simple as that.

“He riled me at the press conference, running his mouth and wearing that daft bow tie. He didn’t impress me one bit.

“To be honest, that got under my skin a bit. He was disrespectful to me, my fans and to British boxing really. He said I am overrated and all that. He has even come out and said he would beat Amir Khan but he is simply not in Khan’s league – or mine!

“He’s not even here yet. He arrives this weekend so he seems to think he can just turn up six days before the biggest fight of his life, beat me and leave. But that’s just not going to happen.”

Brook went on: “Jones has put stuff out there on Twitter about me, saying he’s going to eat me alive.

“On July 7 he won’t be talking any more. He’ll be standing opposite me in my hometown in front of my fans.

“He’ll have to bring plans A, B and C along because he won’t be ready for what I am going to throw at him. I will be nasty and spiteful against him. The crowd will play a huge part on the night, too.

“Jones won’t like it as he won’t have a fan or friend in the place.”

TICKETS for Kell Brook v Carson Jones are on sale now, priced £30, £40, £60 and £100 from the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield box office on 0114 256 5656 and at www.motorpointarenasheffield.com

The big fight night is live on Sky Sports 1HD from 8pm next Saturday.
