Matchroom Promoter Eddie Hearn today revealed undefeated welterweight Kell Brook (27-0, 18KOs) will be back in action on July 7th following his career-best victory over British rival Matthew Hatton last weekend.

Brook, 25, has been linked to some huge names in the future, with the likes of Shane Mosley and Marcos Maidana mentioned, but the Sheffield man looks more likely to return to the Motorpoint Arena for a another sell-out, rather than a second trip to the United States.

Mosley is out of commission as he fights on May 5th and would be unlikely to accept a UK bout just over two months after his fight with Saul Alvarez. Maidana on the other hand, may be a different story on the back of his loss to Devon Alexander and could be open to the fight in the British Isles.

Brook is certain to look abroad for an opponent as any other Briton than Amir Khan would be a backwards step and the winners of this weekend’s bouts between  European champion Leonard Bundu and Antonio Moscatiello and former world champion Jan Zaveck and Bethuel Uushona, could well be in the frame for a Yorkshire bout in the summer.

Activity is one thing but this isn't going to develop him further by fighting an opponent looking to survive someone who is there to compete and give real effort is needed soon enough he'll think all fights will be this easy and then he steps up and isn't ready for facing adversity or an actual f...
he will not fight anyone of note and after he wins he will call out khan again..... same old bollocks with kell and eddie
This sounds about right.... I'd only wanna see him fight zaveck out of those names. He's now had 3 fights under Hearn time to go world level

Would be very happy with Jan Zaveck as the opponent, great test.
Oh yeah. He may have beaten Berto if not for that cut.
What I was thinking... I had it 3-2 before the stoppage I think... Zavec was catching up.

yeah zaveck-brook is a good fight, been saying that for a while now. zaveck is underrated by most, but he has good defense and a punch as well. definitely a significant step up.
