Katie Taylor will get her first taste of outdoor action later this year.
The Irish superstar has raced to 2-0 since making her debut in November and is expected to box again in March.
Taylor, 30, is a five-time world champion amateur, six-time European champion and won Olympic gold in London in 2012.
She is set to be confirmed as an addition to the undercard of Gennady Golovkin’s WBA Super, IBF, IBO and WBC middleweight world title defence against mandatory challenger Daniel Jacobs on March 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
And whether that is confirmed in the next few weeks or not, Boxing Scene understands that Taylor will definitely be added to the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s clash against Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium Connected By EE, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office, on April 29.
IBF heavyweight champion Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) takes on former Ukrainian kingpin Klitschko (64-4, 53 KOs) –– who will be 41 by the times he returns to the ring after an 18-month absence –– in a defence of his crown on the back of a routine three-round demolition of American Eric Molina back in December.
That fight topped a card at the Manchester Arena on which Taylor outpointed Viviane Obenauf over six rounds.
Further details on Taylor’s next fight or two will be revealed in due course, with promoter Eddie Hearn expected to make an official announcement soon.
