Undefeated Kazakh Kanat 'QazaQ' Islam continued his streak of wins with a unanimous decision over tough Mexican contender Norberto 'Demonio' ??González to capture the NABO-WBO junior middleweight title and the WBA Inter-Continental title.

The evening of boxing was held in the Boca Ratón Spa & Resort of Boca Ratón

'Islam (24-0, 19 KOs), a bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics representing Kazakhstan, although a national of China, had to work extra hard to prevail against volatile and tough Gonzalez (23- 9, 13 KOs).

Although the fight was one-way, with Islam taking the initiative throughout the contest and the Mexican slugger was always pressured and forced to fight back, the Kazakh did not have the strength to knock him out or have González in serious trouble during the contest.

Only a head clash in the sixth round opened up a cut on the right eyebrow of the Mexican, with which his corner had to deal with for the rest of the fight.

The scores of 115-112, 116-111 and 120-109 left no doubt over the result, as the referee declared Islam the official winner of the fight. The win further extends his unbeaten record and also keeps him in the top 10 under the World Boxing Organization - and the fight is looking for an opportunity for a title fight in the near future.
