Daniel "The General" Diaz (18-2, 13KOs) will get his first opportunity to fight for a world boxing title. Diaz will face Japan's Koki Kameda (24-1, 15KOs), the "regular" bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) on May 7 in the city of Osaka, Japan. Diaz was surprised with the opportunity but says he won't be intimidated by facing Kameda in Japan.
"For me this fight is a big surprise, because of the problems with the earthquake in Japan. I thought there wouldn't be any boxing for a while. But there are people who are working and continue to fight. I'll be ready for the fight and won't be intimidated," Diaz said.
