IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage (31-4, 18KOs) appeared on the most recent edition of The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene.com's official podcast. K9 faces Cory Spinks on June 30th in a rematch of their 2010 fight which he won via fifth round knockout.

Bundrage has been inactive since his points victory over Sechew Powell last June. He says that the lack of big fights prompted him to sit out his contract with Don King so that he could become a promotional free agent.

"I was with Don King and I had to wait for the contract to run out. He just didn't produce. I signed a contract and he didn't get me the fights.  Now I just need to take care of Spinks again," Bundrage revealed.

Even though their first fight was one-sided, Bundrage insists that he will take Spinks seriously.

"God works in mysterious ways. You never know what he has planned. I take Spinks seriously. Bute was supposed to steam roll Froch and we saw what happened there.  You never know."

Golden Boy Promotions won the purse bid for Bundrage-Spinks 2 and has placed the bout on Showtime's ShoBox series on June 30th. Bundrage is thankful and likes his position being promoter less.

"I'm a free agent like Lebron (James) when he left Cleveland. Thank God for what Golden Boy did. I feel like I'm out of jail not being with Don King," Bundrage concluded.

Might as well change K9's last name to Bündritsch, because he acts like an inactive Euro fighter that takes nothing but mandatory fights. None of the popular 154 guys are going to fight him, and this Contender guy thinks he's entitled to big money because he beat up an old Spinks. Only the guys w...
K-9 is far from elite. I dont think anyone thinks he is elite, only a handful of his hardcore fans. he loses to anyone thats above B-level. he is not gonna beat spinks
A simple co-sign would do. You almost made me think that you thought I said he was elite, :grumpy:!!

It's about time he left Don! He isn't the best at 154, but I'd love to see him fight Canelo, Cotto, Kirkland, Lara, and many others at that weight. I think he beats Spinks again next month... Steward has him looking better than ever...
