Juanma is Very Interested in Facing Mikey Garcia

By Ryan Burton

Various reports have recently surfaced stating that Top Rank is interested in pitting WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia (31-0, 26KOs) against former two-division champion Juan Manuel Lopez (32-2, 29KOs). The two dates being talked about are May 11th and May 18th and the fight would likely take place in Puerto Rico.

Lopez said that he hadn't heard that the fight was being discussed but said he is very interested in facing the Mexican-American.

"No one has mentioned the fight to me but if we can fight at 130 pounds that would be perfect. He is a great fighter and that would be a great fight.  I am very interested in that fight," Lopez told BoxingScene.com.
