Juan Manuel Marquez (53-5, 39KOs) is taking a different training road for the first time in his career. The former three division champion is scheduled to meet with specialists who are going to evaluate his weight, physical condition and advise him if any changes are needed in his training camp.

Marquez, slowly bulking up for his trilogy bout with Manny Pacquiao (53-3, 38KOs) on November 12 in Las Vegas, wants to avoid his past mistake of putting on the wrong kind of weight. The Mexican veteran has been using several specialists to make sure his body is progressing properly in training camp.

In 2009 Marquez moved up to welterweight for a bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He says the weight made him slow and he couldn't put his punches together. Mayweather dominated him over twelve rounds. The fight with Pacquiao takes place at a catch-weight of 144-pounds. Marquez is putting on the right kind of muscle but taking steps with the specialists to ensure he maintains his speed.

Using his old training methods, combined with his new strategy and properly bulking up - Marquez feels that he gained "the right kind of power to deal with Pacquiao."

Marquez and Pacquiao fought to a twelve round draw in 2004, and Pacquiao won a controversial twelve round split decision in their 2008 rematch.
