A battle of super flyweight contenders is being orchestrated for February 18th, possibly in Guadalajara. Juan Jose Montes (21-2, 14KOs) would face Oscar Ibbara (27-5, 18KOs). The winner would received a good bump in the rankings. Montes was stopped in eleven rounds by then WBC champion Tomas Rojas last May. He returned and won his last two in row by knockout. Ibarra was stunned in his last fight, losing his WBC silver belt to Sylvester Lopez last September. Before the loss to Lopez, Ibarra had won thirteen fights in a row and remained unbeaten since April 2009.
