Juan Diaz-Rocky Martinez on Crawford-Beltran Bill?

By Miguel Rivera

According to promoter Peter Rivera of Puerto Rico Best Boxing, Roman "Rocky" Martinez (27-2-2, 16KOs) may potentially battle Juan Diaz (39-4, 19KOs) in a showdown of former champions.

WBO lightweight champion Terence Crawford is potentially going to face mandatory challenger Raymundo Beltran on November 8th Omaha, according to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum.

Rivera has approached HBO with the idea of having Martinez face Diaz in the co-featured attraction, and the winners of both fights could meet at a later date.

"We are awaiting for a response from HBO regarding the fight with Juan Diaz," Rivera told Carlos Narvaez. "Terence Crawford is supposed to face Raymundo Beltran. The idea that we have proposed is that Crawford will fight with Beltran and Martinez will go against Diaz in the co-feature. That's the idea that we have."

Glad Beltran gets his shot... but it'll be a lot harder than Burns.... a lot.

This would be a pretty decent card. See what Diaz has left.
