IBF super feathrweight champion Juan Carlos Salgado underwent surgery in Guadalajara to correct a left eyebrow issue. During recent fights against Miguel "Barreterito" Beltran, Martin Honorio and Jonathan Barros, the area took a lot of damage and the healing process did not go as planned. The doctors were forced to re-open the old wound to remove a cyst, which was formed due to bad scarring. The procedure was necessary because the area could have easily been ripped open in his next fight.
The doctor told Salgado to stay away from the ring and avoid getting hit in the area for at least six weeks. He hopes to make the fourth defense of his title on a date in January.
