As BoxingScene.com previously reported, the WBA's World Championship Committee has taken away the status of "super champion" from bantamweight Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno, and made him a "champion in recess" until the boxer resolves an ongoing legal situation in Panama with his former manager Dr. Roberto Grimaldo.

Chemito was not the only boxer to receive a drop in status. Juan Carlos Reveco, the WBA's interim-champion at flyweight, has been stripped of his status and also received the label of "champion in recess." Like Moreno, Reveco is going through a legal situation with his manager Osvaldo Rivero. Reveco must resolve the issue before receiving his championship status back.
