| Juan Carlos Gomez Vows To Batter Wilson in Rematch
|
|
By Ruslan Chikov On Saturday night during Universum's Fight Night in Schwerin "The Black Panther" Juan Carlos Gomez (49-3, 37KOs) will get a chance at revenge when he faces Darnell Wilson (24-14-3, 20KOs) in a rematch. Last September, Wilson won a shocking ten round majority decision. Following the loss, Gomez revealed that he entered the fight with a serious shoulder injury. He underwent surgery after the fight and now he plans to make Wilson pay. "I'm happy to get the rematch against Wilson. I will once more show the entire Team Universum what I can do," Gomez said. At age 39, Gomez realizes another loss could end his career. The once great cruiserweight, now a heavyweight contender since 2002, wants to secure one final title shot. "I know I'm not a youngster anymore and this is my last chance. I want to make amends to the fans for the last fight. But I will once again surprise the fans and win by knockout," promises Gomez. I've always kept an eye on Gomez, ever since I saw him displaying such skill against Sinan Samil Sam. Even so, his record is good, 49-3, including a loss to Vitaly Klitschko, and a too ca... |
