Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport has booked a meeting with WBA, IBO, IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) to map out the boxer's 2018 campaign.

Joshua had a massive 2017. First he packed in a record 90,000 fans to Wembley in London to watch him stop Wladimir Klitschko in the eleventh round of a Fight of The Year contender, and then he came back last Saturday night in Cardiff and put away Carlos Takam in the tenth, which took place before another record crowd of 78,000 at Principality.

Unlike the current year, Hearn would like to see Joshua have at least three ring outings in 2018.

The first fight of the year will take place in the first quarter, then a summer bout and then a third fight before the year is out.

Some of the options being targeted include unifications with WBC champion Deontay Wilder and WBO champion Joseph Parker, and a showdown with Tyson Fury if he returns. David Haye may also become an option, if he defeats rival Tony Bellew next month in their London rematch.

"We have a meeting next Tuesday to go through the plan for 2018. I think really we would like to box three times, and if that is going to happen maybe get out February/March, or maybe early April, then go again in the summer, and towards the end of the year," Hearn said to Sky Sports.

"Three things to take care of are the WBA mandatory at some point, when that is called, Deontay Wilder, Joseph Parker, maybe even Fury if he comes back into the sport.

"We have to get the balance right between doing the right deals and the right business for AJ, understanding that some fights aren't as big as they should be yet, and Joshua v Wilder is a good example of that.

"This guy [Joshua] has seven, eight years left. He is going to go through everybody and you will see all these fights, it's just a case of when and where."
