People have expected Anthony Joshua to become a superstar for quite some time, but now it's actually happening.

Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua (16-0, 16 KOs) formally unveiled Dominic Breazeale (17-0, 15 early) as the opponent for Joshua’s first defence of his IBF heavyweight title during a presser in London earlier today. Joshua’s multi-fight deal with Showtime was also officially announced. The fight takes place on June 25 at London's O2 Arena.

The multi-fight agreement kicks-off on Saturday, June 25 when Joshua, a British sensation, attempts to make the first defence of his IBF Heavyweight World Championship against undefeated American challenger Dominic Breazeale at the sold-out The O2 arena in London. The addition of this heavyweight title fight, airing live on Showtime Networks in the late afternoon, bolsters a big day for boxing as later that evening on CBS, SHOWTIME will present the first live primetime boxing event on the CBS Television Network in nearly 40 years.

From the moment they secured the televised rights for his eventual 2nd round knockout of Charles Martin to win a piece of the heavyweight crown, it was apparent that the brass at Showtime was keen on entering the Anthony Joshua business. That goal was realized on Wednesday, when the network announced a multi-fight agreement as the exclusive U.S. television partner of the unbeaten 2012 Olympic Gold medalist and newly minted heavyweight titlist.

Anthony Joshua is one of three heavyweight world titleholders. His next opponent is not seen by an overwhelming majority of boxing observers as being anywhere near that level.

Anthony Joshua MBE’s IBF World Heavyweight title defence against Dominic ‘Trouble’ Breazeale at The O2 in London on June 25 sold out in 30 minutes today. Joshua landed the crown at his Greenwich fortress earlier in April with a second round KO of Charles Martin and is looking to take another unbeaten record from another unbeaten American foe when Breazeale crosses the pond boasting a 17-0 record with 15 KO wins.

Anthony Joshua will face undefeated American Dominic Breazeale in the first defence of his IBF world heavyweight title this summer. The 30-year-old Breazeale, who competed at the 2012 Olympic Games where Joshua won his gold medal, will travel to London's 02 Arena on June 25 for his first fight at world level.
