Joseph Parker Joins The Athlete Ranks of Under Armour

Auckland – Performance sports apparel and footwear world leader Under Armour announced today in Albany, Auckland that heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker has joined its elite roster of professional athletes, including Canadian UFC champion Georges St-Pierre, Olympic canoe racing gold-medalist Lisa Carrington and Olympic gold-medalist Michael Phelps in partnering with Under Armour.

"Joseph Parker is a true athlete and one of the most exciting young prospects New Zealand has seen in boxing in many years. Partnering with Joseph is a reflection of our global commitment to making athletes better everywhere," explains Phil Bentley, Brand Manager for Under Armour in New Zealand. “Joseph embodies Under Armour’s spirit of competition and hunger to be the best. He is a special fighter and together we’ll have a huge impact on making young athletes in New Zealand and beyond realize what it takes to perform your best.”

"What you wear in training is really important in boxing and Under Armour products keep me cool, dry and light throughout training or workouts. Their footwear, apparel and accessories are built to make me perform better and help me focus on my fights and my training," shared Joseph Parker, NZ Professional Heavyweight Boxing Champion with a professional record of 7-0 with 6 knockouts. "The Under Armour team has proven their innovations in performance apparel are unmatched in helping athletes perform better. They really know and love sports so it was a natural fit for me to partner with them."

Over the next year, Parker will participate in a number of marketing initiatives for Under Armour in New Zealand including being the men’s face of Under Armour’s “STORM” Hoody range released in April. . The January 10th photo-shoot marked Parker’s first public appearance as an Under Armour athlete.
