Flyweight Joselito Velazquez of Mexico has an opponent for his pro debut on December 17, manager Frank Espinoza told BoxingScene.com.

Velazquez will face Eduardo Casimero in a six round bout at the Gran Oasis Arena in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

The 23-year-old Velasquez had a brilliant amateur record that culminated at this past summer's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Velazquez, who had an amateur record of 138-40, made it to the second round before being eliminated by Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan.

Aside from signing a managerial contract with Frank Espinoza, Velazquez signed a promotional contract with Akihiko Honda and Teiken Promotions.

Casimero (5-3), who resides in Toluca, Mexico, has lost his last two bouts.

In the main event of the Promociones del Pueblo, Cancun Boxing card, bantamweights Mariana Juarez (43-9-4, 17 knockouts) and Irma Garcia (16-1, 3 KOs) square off in a 10 round bout.

Former junior middleweight world titleholder Carlos Molina (27-6-2, 8 KOs) will face hard-hitting Diego Cruz (17-3-1, 13 KOs) in a 10 round bout.

The fight card will air throughout Mexico on Televisa.
