Fresno, Calif. -  Central Valley 2012 USA Olympian and undefeated (11-0, 8 KO's) professional Top Rank fighter Jose Ramirez will be in the main event on a nationally televised "Fight for Water 3" Saturday, Oct 25 at the Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif.

This boxing event will be televised nationally on Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate telecast on UniMas.

This is a big event, building off the history-making Fight for Water 1 and Fight for Water 2, both of which drew record crowds, sponsors and revenue in boxing.

Its seldom if ever seen a fighter at this level draw this type of response in the sport.

"We are very proud of Jose as a fighter and as a young man who cares for his community. When Jose goes into the ring he really does 'Fight for Water' which is so important to Fresno and all surrounding communities," said Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank.

California is in a historical drought. Water supplies are running out and the state government is now policing the usage of water and issuing out serious fines to the public. The Central Valley which is the nation's number one food producer has hardly any water to grow food.

Ramirez understands and cares about the farm workers and farmers who have lost their jobs and farms and he is committed to make a difference in helping.

"This fight is special to me because on November 1st we have a chance to get the water flowing back in Central California and help keep jobs, food and hope alive. Please vote YES on the Water Bond, as no matter how big this fight is the real fight is the Fight for Water," said Ramirez.

The solution is to build new reservoirs to store water in wet years for dry years.

"We are doing things never seen at this level in boxing and It's an honor for me to not only help showcase the future of the sport in Jose Ramirez but to show the nation that we can compete with anyone in doing world class sporting events from the Central Valley," said promoter-agent Rick Mirigian.

"The California Latino Water Coalition is very thankful to Top Rank and Bob Arum for allowing his organization to highlight California's historical drought and the Coalitions fight for water," said Mario Santoyo.

The Coalition hopes to pass a California water bond on the November 2014 ballot.

Tickets, priced at $15, $30 and $60 are available at FCEC Main Box Office located at Selland Arena, 700 M Street Fresno, Ca.
