IBF super featherweight world champion Jose "Sniper" Pedraza is not exactly sure when and where his next defense of the belt will take place. However, that does not mean that the 130-pound king of the International Boxing Federation is away from the gym.

Pedraza will be attending the upcoming world title defense by WBO super featherweight champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez, who on June 11 will defend his belt against Vasyl Lomachenko at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. Pedraza will be there to support Martinez. If Lomachenko wins, Pedraza may target a unification with the two-time Olympic gold medal winner.

Pedraza (22-0, 12KOs) was last in the ring in April when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Stephen Smith of the UK.

Pedraza says he might return in late July or August as part of a Showtime televised card.

"They're trying to square something down for late July or early August on a Showtime card. It would be an optional defense, but we have no definite date or name. We are in a situation that is similar to the circumstances from a few months ago," said Luis Espada, coach Pedraza, to Carlos Gonzalez. "It is more of the same. We do not have anything firm although we thought that by this date we would have something."

However, Espada said the tentative plan is for Pedraza make a fight during the summer and then again in December. After that he might move up to the lightweight limit of 135-pounds.

"Then we will be looking at going up to 135 pounds. If we do not reach a unification, they we will consider going straight to a title at 135 pounds. We will evaluate what is the most comfortable or the best option," said Espada.
