By Rey Colon

Rookie Felix Perez, who allegedly has a long amateur background, will be the man on February 18 to face international medalist José Pedraza, who makes his lightweight debut in the professional ranks. The fight takes place on the Universal Promotions at the the coliseum Juan Pachin Vicens in Ponce, Puerto Rico, and has former WBO welterweight champion Carlos "El Indio" Quintana in the main event against Ishmael Tetteh.

Pedraza was signed to a promotional contract by a trio of promoters, which included Lou DiBella, Gary Shaw and Javier Bustillo of Universal Promotions. Pedraza reportedly received a signing bonus of nearly $100,000.
