According to former four division world champion Jorge Arce, his most recent opponent, Jose Carmona, is now stable after two brain surgeries.

On Saturday night in San Luis Potosi, Arce stopped Carmona in the eight round after landing some very hard punches throughout the contest. After the fight was stopped, Carmona was mot responding well and he was carried out on a stretcher and taken then immediately to a local hospital.

The doctors found an inflammation in the brain and the boxer underwent two surgeries. He now remains in intensive care, but is reported to be stable. The doctors are going to wait for 48 hours before making a determination on his condition.

Damn what's up with the brain traumas in boxing lately. I can see the boxing gloves manufacturers being told to up their standards by the commissions. It'll be like pillows at this rate.
