Mexicali's Jorge Paez Jr. has been confirmed to face Colombian puncher Francisco Fuentes. "Maromerito" Páez (33-4-1, 19 KOs) vs. "Paco" Fuentes (16-3-0, 13 KOs) takes place on Saturday the 26th at the Auditorium Bicentennial Moreliain Mexico. The event will be a co-promotion by Zanfer and Marquez Promotions and televised by TV Azteca.
At 25 years of age, "Maromerito" says it is time to prove that he's ready to enter the elite welterweight ranks, but to get to this level he must overcome a tough obstacle in Fuentes.
Fuentes, 23-years-old, won his last four fights and six of his last seven, and his biggest wins came over Oscar Leon, Eduardo Flores (for the title of South America) and in his latest fight Carlos Valdez.
"I prepared a lot in camp, including during the holidays, because I am bound to win on January 26, because Zanfer has assured me that I will get the chance to go for world title this year.
