Jorge Arce-Jesus Rojas: A Two Round No Decision

By Rick Reeno

MGM Grand, Las Vegas - WBO bantamweight champion Jorge Arce (60-6-2-1, 46KOs) and Jesus Rojas (18-1-1-1, 13KOs) fought to a two round no-decision.

Rojas went down from a counter in the first minute of the first round. He seemed fine upon rising and fought well until the bell. In the second round, there looked to be a clash of heads with a combination of a low blow. As Arce ducked in pain, he was hit with a heavy left hook to the side of the head and went down. Arce was given time to recover by the referee, but he seemed to have issues with his left ear, where Rojas' hook landed, and the fight was stopped.

Yeah,an accidnet but it was a low blow-headbutt-punch to the back of the head combo. Arce was well advised nbot to continue. Pitty since it seemed this would have turned into a good fight. They should rematch.
