Jonathan Oquendo's Girlfriend is Declared Brain Dead

Melanie Miranda Colon, the girlfriend of super bantamweight Jonathan Oquendo, was declared brain dead by doctors at a medical facility in Puerto Rico. Last weekend, Oquendo and his girlfriend were involved in a tragic accident when their ATV was struck by another vehicle.

Oquendo, the vehicle's driver, suffered a broken right elbow, several cuts, and bruises on various parts of his body. The injuries forced him to withdraw from a scheduled fight on the Juan Manuel Lopez-Orlando Salido undercard on March 10th. However, his girlfriend, 20-years-old, suffered a fractured skull.

The uncle of Oquendo's girlfriend broke the news to a newspaper in San Juan. He thanked all of the nurses and doctors who tried to save her life.

i lost my lil cousin to an atv accident 15 years ago, she was only 10 years old (R.I.P lil Brandy). They can be fun but you mos def have to respect and take precautions when riding.....
