John Molina in Shocking Final Round KO of Mickey Bey

By Rick Reeno, Luis Sandoval & Ryan Burton

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas - Lightweight contender John Molina (26-3, 21KOs) pulled a rabbit out of his hat and knocked out previously undefeated Mickey Bey (18-1-1, 9KOs) in the tenth and final round. Molina was way behind on the cards after being outboxed by the faster Bey. Molina was missing all night long, but he finally caught Bey in the final round to stun him bad - and then unloaded with a massive amount of punches to force the referee to jump in as Bey was out on his feet. The scores at the time of the stoppage were 90-81, 89-82, 88-83 - all for Bey.

Molina lost two of his last three. Molina last fought in February, where he knocked out Robert Rodriguez but the outcome was later changed to a no-contest after Bey tested positive for a banned substance.

Super middleweight prospect Badou Jack (15-0, 10KOs) picked up his biggest win to date with a hard-fought ten round unanimous decision over Farah Ennis (21-2, 12KOs). Jack pushed the action, threw and landed the harder punches all night. The scores were 100-90, 98-92, 98-92.

In six round super middleweight fight, Luis "Cuba" Arias (6-0, 3KOs) won a unanimous decision over Lateef Mundy (10-7, 4KOs). All three judges saw it 59-55.

Ronal Gavril (5-0, 4KOs) stopped Jas Phipps (4-1) in the in the fifth round of their super middleweight bout. Phipps stayed on his feet but wasn't throwing punches in return, prompting the ref to waive the fight off.

In the evening's opening fight, Justin DeLoach improved to 4-0 by defeating Kevin Medley (1-1) in their junior middleweight bout. The final scores were 40-36 and 39-37 twice.
