Joel Casamayor's Boxing License Revoked, Fine Issued

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Nevada State Athletic Commission has revoked the boxing license of former champion Joel Casamayor (38-6-1, 22KOs) and fined him $10,000. Casamayor no-showed a scheduled hearing on Wednesday. The boxer tested positive for marijuana in the aftermath of his eight round TKO loss to WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley from last November at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Casamayor can apply for a new boxing license in twelve months.

Should have revoked his license on a permanent basis rather than just for a year.It's for a minor offense,but the sport is better off without stinkers like Joel Casamayor.Comment by #1Assassin on 01-12-2012
