Joan Guzman Out, Mosquera vs. Rivera Now in Play

By Luis Sandoval

BoxingScene has been advised that Joan Guzman who was supposed to fight Vicente Mosquera tonight for the interim WBA Junior Welterweight title is now off the card after coming in 8 pounds over the contracted weight.

Mosquera’s advisor Anthony Gonzalez said they are trying to find a last minute replacement for Mosquera but the WBA title will no longer be available. Veteran Cosme Rivera appears to be the fighter who will get the call on extremely short notice.

This is not the first time Guzman has had a fight cancelled for coming in overweight as his fight with Nate Campbell was cancelled back in 2008 and he worked out a deal to have his rematch with Ali Funeka happen after coming in 9 pounds over the limit.

The FUKIN Story Of Guzman's Career :nonono: UNBELIEVABLE! All that fukin talent went to waste because of clearly a horrible work ethic, sometimes being blessed with talent can be a curse and it can make you lazy
