Joan Guzman 33-0-1 (20 KO's) will face Russia's Khabib Allakhverdiev 17-0-0 (8 KO's) for the WBA super lightweight title on November 30th at The BB&T Center, formerly known as the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida. According to Guzman's promoter, Acquinity Sports, the fight will headline an event called “KO To Drugs.” 

Promoter Henry Rivalta of Aquinity said. “This fight will be the main event of the night and for first time, the WBA together with Acquinity Sports will present the 'KO To Drugs' event in the United States. We are thrilled to present a world title fight in Florida and it is important for us since we are the most active promotional company in South Florida.”

“We know that Russian fighters are strong and also that they are warriors. Nevertheless, I will make sure that Joan Guzman is the best super lightweight fighter in the world."

Guzman is confident of beating Allakhverdiev, and guarantees that he will conquer another world title.

“We respect Allakhverdiev and his courage, but right now I am in the best stage of my career and you will see that on November 30th when I defeat Allakhverdiev,” said Guzman

The event will have 9 additional fights involving Juan Carlos Payano, Claudio Marrero, Isiah Thomas, Domonique Dolton, Umberto Savigne, Ed Paredes and the United States debut of the undefeated Cuban Alexei Collado, who recently sign a contract with Acquinity Sports.
