Jhonny Gonzalez's Options Include Arce, Mijares, Velez

By Salvador Rodriguez

According to Osvaldo Küchle, promoter of WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (56-8, 47KOs), discussions are still ongoing for a possible fight with multi-division champion Jorge 'Travieso' Arce (64-7-2, 49KOs), and there is now a working date of September 20 in Sinaloa. Names like Cristian Mijares, Jayson Velez, Ronny Rios and Rocky Juarez, have been included as well as possible opponents.

"The fight is proposed for September 20, but for the moment we are also reviewing a possible proposal for Pepe Gomez on Cristian Mijares. We are open to them too and we expect [that fight] to do numbers," said Küchle.

There is also the possibility of returning on the upcoming Floyd Mayweather card on September 13th, against Jayson Velez, Ronny Rios of Rocky Juarez.

we all know that arce is the leading candidate to fight johhny, but i'd like to see him fight velez, he's young and hungry and is probably capable of pulling off the upset!
