Jhonny Gonzalez Eyes Santa Cruz, Mikey Garcia, Donaire

By Jose Luis Camarillo, notifight.com

WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (55-8, 47KOs) has big names on his mind. Last Saturday night in California, Gonzalez regained his title with a first round stoppage of Abner Mares. There is a rematch clause, and Gonzalez is open to a rematch, but his promoters, Reginaldo and Oswaldo Kuchle, have said their boxer has several big names on his mind - including the new WBC super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz. Golden Boy Promotions, due to Gonzalez's victory, have three controlling options on the boxer.

"Jhonny wants to the best, and [those fighters] are - Nonito Donaire, Mikey Garcia and Leo Santa Cruz, but let us see what Golden Boy Promotions offers. We are open to a rematch [with Mares]. [Before Jhonny won], there were already plans to have Mares go against Leo Santa Cruz, and now making this fight between Santa Cruz and Mares would be a lot more of natural [option] for Abner," Oswaldo Kuchle said.

[QUOTE=Jc8804;13693215]Gonzales wouldnt handle garcia. Garcia is too smart and technical . And would tee off[/QUOTE] You fail to forget Johnny has a master mind like Nacho in his corner, that could exploit Garcia's flaws too, it could go either way…

Leo Santa Cruz will get slumped like Mares the moment he steps up in competition . His chin will break eventually

These 'options' are bull****. These need to go away. Then again if you don't agree to the options then you don't get the fight. Bs.

Would like to see him fight any and all of those opponents. He has a chance against any with that power, especially with Nachito in his corner. PDL rematch sounds good too.
