Centro de Convenciones de Ixtapa, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, Mexico - Former two division world champion Jhonny Gonzalez (53-8, 45KOs) won a twelve round decision over Eusebio "Cascabel" Osejo (21-13-2, 7KOs) over twelve rounds to capture the USNBC featherweight title of the World Boxing Council. The scores were 115-111, 115-112 and 116-110.

It was a tough fight for Gonzalez, who took some shots in the first three rounds and was decked in the fourth. After four rounds of action, Osejo was winning a majority decision with the judges. Gonzalez started to pick up the pace in the mid rounds, was winning on the cards after eight, and closed strong as his opponent did not arrive to Mexico to lay down.

Gonzalez will now head to a rematch with WBC featherweight king Daniel Ponce De Leon.
In the co-feature, Jessica Chavez (17-3-2, 4Kos) won a decision over Irma Sanchez (25-6-1, 7KOs) to capture the vacant WBC silver light flyweight title.
